While it’s still unfinished

You don’t have to hate today’s body to pursue tomorrow’s strength.

AAHB is a record of becoming: lifting, eating carnivore, confronting perfectionism and control, living with lipedema and hypermobility, and learning to place every part of the process back in God’s hands.

Why this exists

The purpose beneath the practical

AAHB exists first to honor Christ and point women toward Him.

Carnivore eating, strength training, honest reflection, and free resources are part of how I’m learning to steward the body and life God has given me. Practical guidance matters here because women deserve useful help. That help flows from a greater hope.

I do not have a polished testimony or a finished transformation. I have a Savior who met me while I was still trying to control everything, and I am learning what surrender looks like one ordinary day at a time.

Free to use. Made to serve.

Hi, I’m Bekah

The human experiment behind Amino Acid Honey Buns.

I spent years trying to make my body look fit. Then in 2026, after getting serious about my relationship with food, changing the way I eat, and losing about 30 pounds, I realized I didn’t actually want to keep getting smaller. I wanted muscle. I wanted strength. And I wanted to find out what this body — lipedema, hypermobility, scoliosis and all — could actually do.

I still care how I look, but the mirror isn’t going to be my only scoreboard anymore.

The name Amino Acid Honey Buns began as a joke after I lost about 30 pounds eating carnivore and realized I had also lost my ass. Carbohydrate honey buns could probably have brought it back quickly. I wanted to put in the work and build it through protein and strength training. I wanted amino acid honey buns. The joke became an experiment, and the experiment became this platform.

AAHB is me figuring all of that out while it’s still unfinished. I’m learning to lift, documenting what changes, eating carnivore, confronting perfectionism and control, building things before I feel qualified, and trying to stop treating today’s version of me like an unacceptable rough draft.

I was not raised as a Christian. I spent my first 30 years as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and left a high-control religious environment without knowing what healthy Christianity looked like. I spent years as an atheist and agnostic, then tried to reach God on my own terms.

At the end of 2022, lonely and overwhelmed in a small Texas town, I reluctantly walked into a Southern Baptist church down the road. I was loved. I saw people studying Scripture in context and praying together. I heard the gospel clearly for the first time, felt convicted, and came to Christ.

My walk with Christ is still new, and I am still learning. After spending so much of my life being controlled, I developed a powerful need to control everything myself. God keeps calling me to place it back in His hands. I also participate in Celebrate Recovery for food addiction and control issues, and I expect recovery and surrender to remain lifelong work.

More than anything, I’m learning what it looks like to pursue real change without withholding love from myself until I earn it. AAHB exists first to honor Christ and point women toward Him. My hope is that somewhere in my unfinished story, another woman recognizes herself, sees His grace, and realizes she can begin too.
